About Us

Long Island Metro Lacrosse Leagues, LLC is a leader in post-high school lacrosse leagues and events in the Long Island Metropolitan area. For over 40 years, our organization has delivered exceptional value and first-class experiences for our teams and players. Our programs are designed to accommodate varying levels of play, all with a focus on growing the game through community, competition, and sportsmanship.

Known as "The Island's League", The LIMLL flagship league, The Cantiague Summer League, was established in 1978 by Long Island lacrosse legend, John Pappas. The league attracts top lacrosse players from the Long Island Metropolitan area,  with an expanding network of alumni including collegiate All-Americans (past and present), USA Lacrosse and Long Island Lacrosse Hall of Fame inductees, as well as representation from all major professional lacrosse leagues including the Premier Lacrosse League, National Lacrosse League, and the former Major Lacrosse League.

As we enter our 45th year, we are deeply grateful for the continued support of our lacrosse community and look forward to many more years of providing top-notch competition and fun.

Testimonials

"I’ve had the pleasure of playing for the Cantiague Summer Lacrosse League since its inception in 1978 and I have continued to be a part of it in some fashion.  When my playing days were done, I had the opportunity to watch my sons play and continue the comradery, friendships and skills that John Pappas had intended and Brendan Wallace is continuing to instill in the game.  I enjoy watching the world class level lacrosse that is played by today’s elite players.  I encourage everyone to come watch these exciting games at Cantiaque Park which is a great venue in Nassau County."  -John Kirby, Towson University ,  Evening Post Summer Lax Club

"Playing in the LI Mens League at Cantiague Park under John Pappas was the highlight and a great finish to our lax season for years. Even though many of us played at top colleges or for big time club teams, the chance to get back to your summer team and play with your HS teammates or friends was what we all really looked forward to. The competition level was insane, with All Americans and USA guys on many of the teams, before the pro leagues watered it down. The Farmingdale guys played for 'Mers Pub', Hicksville for 'Little Country Pub', Levittown played for 'Brothers', Port guys played for 'Harvey' and Sewanhaka guys for 'Valley Auto'. All great teams with great players, and a fun time on the field and off.  So glad to see Brendan Wallace is keeping the current league alive and thriving. Great memories and great for Long Island lacrosse!" - Mike Nelson and Rob Engelke
Sewanhaka HS, Adelphi U and Valley Auto Collision

"I had the pleasure of playing in the Cantiague Summer League from 1984-1998. During the 80's before professional lacrosse, the best lacrosse in the country was played at Cantiague. You could have college All Americans, USA World Team members, all playing at this little park in Hicksville, LI. Many good friends would have teammates from every great team in the nation stay at their house for the summer just to experience the Cantiague Summer League." - Sean Keenan, Cantiague Summer League Player 1984-1998

"Cantiague Summer Lacrosse is competitive, fun, challenging , and a chance to hone your skills and get better as a player or as an official. It is an opportunity to make new friends and continue great friendships- with great memories and a few good laughs along the way. Cantiague will always have a special place in my heart and I am thrilled the tradition lives on. See you there!" - Ed Schreiber, Division I College Lacrosse Official, NCAA National Championship Official,  Cantiague Summer Lacrosse League Official

"I have been playing in the Cantiague League for the past 10 years. As much as the game has changed over the years, the memories from playing in the league will last forever. Being almost 30 and running around with current D1 All-Americans keeps me motivated to stay in shape. You don't stop playing because you get old, you get old because you stop playing! I don't plan on stopping any time soon." - Joe Giardina,  Cantiague Summer League Team Manager and Player

"The Long Island Metro Lacrosse League since 1978 has been a great option for adults who are interested in playing lacrosse in a competitive and social environment. The league provides an opportunity for players to stay active and improve their lacrosse skills while also having fun and building camaraderie with their teammates. It is one of the oldest Adult Lacrosse leagues in the country.

One of the unique features of the Long Island Metro Lacrosse League is its commitment to providing a safe and enjoyable experience for all players while being a USA Lacrosse Member League. The league enforces strict rules regarding sportsmanship and player conduct, ensuring that games are played in a fair and respectful manner. This emphasis on sportsmanship and fair play helps to create a positive atmosphere that is conducive to both learning and having fun.

I highly recommend the Long Island Metro Lacrosse League to anyone looking to play lacrosse in a competitive and social setting. With its multiple divisions, commitment to safety and sportsmanship, and emphasis on fun and camaraderie, the league offers a great experience for players of all levels." - Harry Jacobs, USA Lacrosse Regional Director
